USING THE WINDOWS 11 READINESS ASSESSMENT TOOL

If you’d like to use the Windows 11 Readiness Assessment Tool, follow the instructions below.

Please note that you are not required to run this tool to access the upgrade. You can also simply begin the self-service upgrade process without using the Assessment tool; if your machine is incompatible, you will see an appropriate message and the upgrade will not proceed.

Open the Software Center:

  1. Select the Windows Search button and type in “Software Center”.
  2. When you see Software Center show up as an application open it using the left-hand mouse button.

If you do not see the Software Center at this time, please contact Tech Café  at TechCafe@utsa.edu or 210-458-5555 because a technician will need to assist you from here.

  1. In the Software Center, look for the Windows 11 Readiness Assessment tool and select Install. The software will be downloaded, installed and automatically run.
  2. Once the software has run, you will receive the results
  • Overall Result Compatible – Your computer will support Windows 11. Proceed to the pre-upgrade checklist.
  • Overall Result incompatible – Contact your supervisor, as this unit is unable to be updated to Windows 11. Your department will need to provide you with a compatible computer.
