The Critical Questions

As the summer continues to fly by, many of us are in planning mode for the Fall and Spring semesters. As we are reflecting on our departmental accomplishments and challenges, and what to keep and what to change; it is a great time to also think about the Four C’s.

Sometimes the Four C’s come naturally and easily but other times they might be an afterthought. As we plan for excellent services and programs for the new academic year, now is the time to be intentional.

Are the Four C’s represented in your plan? Consider these questions for your next staff meeting, planning committee or retreat. Your discussions might lead to some fantastic results.

1. What new project, program, policy or procedure needs to be CREATED?
2. What needs to be COMMUNICATED to your staff, student workers, students, participants, customers?
3. Is there a department, academic unit, student group, or subject matter expert with whom you can COLLABORATE?
4. Are you CONNECTED to the students you serve?
