Benefit Changes for 2024-25

UT SELECT Premium Changes

University leadership continues to work closely with UT System to advocate for employees and minimize the increase for this plan year. If you are a full-time benefits-eligible employee who carries employee-only coverage, you will see no increase to your monthly premium thanks to premium sharing from the state and UTSA. If you are a part-time benefits-eligible employee, or your plan includes coverage for a spouse, children or family members, increases are shown below.

Other Changes

  • The maximum contribution for the Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (HCRA) will increase to $3,200. UT Flex’s new provider is Inspira Financial. Current flex debit cards will expire August 31, 2024. If you continue UT Flex for 2024-25, you will receive a brand-new debit card. You can use this card for remaining balances until November 15. If you choose not to continue, paper reimbursement is required. Remember, you must elect HCRA and/or DCRA in My UT Benefits each year to participate.
  • Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is not required to enroll with Short-Term Disability (STD) and/or Long-Term Disability (LTD). EOI is the record of a person’s past and current health events and is used by insurance companies to verify whether a person meets the definition of good health. If you did not elect during your initial period, we encourage you to elect this Annual Enrollment to avoid the EOI process.
  • UT Select Progyny fertility benefits have been modified to $1,000 deductible plus 20% co-insurance. Teledoc (formerly Livongo) and Omada will end as of August 31, 2024. Contact BCBS Health Advocacy (HAS) at (866) 882-2034 for assistance with other programs available.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) plan will now be salary-based, ranging from 1x to 10x salary. Current employees enrolled in AD&D will be rounded up to the nearest salary-based plan. This process will be automated. However, you may increase, decrease or cancel your election.
  • DeltaCare Dental HMO premiums have decreased. See Highlights for 2024-2025 for new premiums.
