SGA Leaders Make UTSA Proud During Summer, Too

UTSA SGA Leaders posing at ODU Sign

The Student Government Association officers attended a Student Government Institute at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Universities and community colleges from all across the country send their student government representatives to receive training at this particular institute.

The Student Government Officers attended educational sessions on topics ranging from productivity and growth to change management and competitive analysis. UTSA was well represented as all the officers assumed leadership roles in their groups and committees. After a few days of hard work all the attendees were able to take some time off and attend a Norfolk Tides minor league baseball game.

After the institute, SGA President Zack Dunn returned to Washington D.C. where he was interning for Congressman Joaquin Castro. Treasurer Ileana Gonzalez traveled to UC Davis for a competitive institute she was selected to attend. Executive Senator Conor Harvey will be interning with City Councilman Ron Nirenberg’s office and VP and Secretary Christian Kenney and Cole Whitmore will both be serving as Peer Mentors on campus with First Year Experience.
