The Student Leadership Center has undergone exciting changes, with both a new office location (UC 1.00.40) and a new Program Coordinator, Vincent Perez, joining the staff! Vince will be in charge of planning and implementation for all of the leadership opportunities the center has to offer. We encourage you to stop by and congratulate him at the grand reopening of the Student Leadership Center on Wednesday, August 27th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. as part of Roadrunner Days.

The UTSA Family Association is currently accepting applications for the UTSA Family Association Scholarships. The Family Association Scholarships goes to deserving UTSA students whose family members have a membership with the UTSA Family Association. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 4:30pm. For more information and to download the application please visit the Family Association Scholarship website.
The UTSA Family Association is currently accepting applications for the 2014 UTSA Family of the Year! The UTSA Family of the Year essay contest is intended to celebrate the supportive role families play in the lives of students and the University community. To apply, please download the application and submit your completed application by 4:30pm on Friday, October 3, 2014.
The Orientation and Family Programs office is currently preparing to recruit 2014-2015 UTSA Orientation Leaders. Orientation Leader benefits include opportunities to meet and interact with UTSA faculty, staff, and campus departments, developing leadership skills, developing communication skills, and invaluable friendships and experiences. The UTSA University Center (U.C.) will host the opening reception of its newest exhibit, “UTSA Traditions,” on Tuesday, August 26, from 2-4 p.m. in the U.C. Window lounge and Gallery 23 (U.C. 1.02.23). The reception is free and open to the public.
Welcoming guests to the opening reception will be our current Mr. UTSA, Zack Dunn, and Ms. UTSA, Rebecca Smith. They will be joined by members of the Spirit of San Antonio Band, as well as Rowdy and a few members of UTSA Cheerleading. Presenting a few words on the Gallery 23 exhibit and UTSA Traditions will be our very our UTSA President, Dr. Ricardo Romo. After the welcome, guests will be encouraged to partake in the free reception and to explore the gallery.
UTSA Traditions is an interactive exhibit showcasing our unique traditions that contribute to UTSA’s rich campus culture. Both recent and long-standing traditions will be on display for the public to enjoy. The exhibit is curated by Jana Schwartz. It will run from August 26 through December 12.
The goal of Gallery 23 is to serve a vital role in creating a vibrant campus community by offering cultural enrichment, enhancing diversity on campus and providing an educational opportunity to explore the arts. Gallery 23 also serves as a professional space to showcase artwork by UTSA students, staff, faculty, alumni and local San Antonio artists.
The gallery is open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Fridays. Gallery 23 takes its name from its room number, University Center 1.02.23. For more information, contact Jana Schwartz.
All December 2014 Commencement Ceremonies will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (200 E. Market St, San Antonio, TX 78205)

The UTSA University Center would like to share with the UTSA Division of Student Affairs the new UC Programs vision and logo. UC Programs now encompasses all UC programs and events, as well as the Roost Game room and Gallery 23.
The vision of UC Programs is a student centered initiative dedicated to University Center programming that is entertaining, educational, and engaging, with the purpose of enhancing the quality of student life for all UTSA students while fostering a strong sense of community and school spirit. These programs will promote the best interests of the University and will contribute to the advancement of the goals and objectives of the University.
We look forward to providing exciting and engaging University Center programming for the 2014- 2015 academic year and invite the UTSA community to join in!

Students and alumni can create a Transcript Account and order their transcripts anytime, anywhere.
